Message ...as far as splicing into the white power wire, it's like this. You can't bypass the relay because the lights will never be triggered to turn on. When you cut the wire that supplies power to the relay, you want to attach the relay end of the wire to the white power wire, not the other end. That way, the relay takes the constant 12V signal from the white wire and applies it to the foglight relay, giving it power any time you hit the fog switch.

There is a simple wire diagram molded into the top of the relay, which you can use to determine which wire is the 12V source. The terminal that the mold shows to be 12V is the terminal whose wire you want. Then lift up the relay mounting panel, and get ahold of that wire from underneath, cut it a little ways away from the relay socket (give yourself enough room to attach a wire to it), and tap this wire into the white wire. That will give you the constant 12V to the relay, so you can turn on the fogs anytime you want.

As for the jumper inside the control pod, you are correct. And like I said above, you can put a switch on that wire, so you can break the connection when you want (ie, for inspection purposes, or if you get pulled over for it).
